David Jones - Chatswood Chase

I really enjoyed the home goods store despite its current relocation. Despite the challenges, they've maintained an impressive and diverse selection that exceeded my expectations. The staff was exceptionally friendly and dedicated, always going the extra mile to satisfy customers. I want to commend the helpful saleswoman who facilitated our purchase of a high-quality set of professional knives at a very favorable price. Their commitment to excellent service is evident, even amidst the challenges of relocation. I'm confident I'll be a frequent visitor to this store in the future!

Been here countless times as it’s one of our favourite places to walk when it’s hot outside. On Boxing Day my wife noticed they have a promotion that would give a sunscreen for free with any gift box purchase. As we were picking up the gift boxes from the display, a sales lady nearby started staring at me and my wife. We did not do anything other than reading the labels on the boxes to see what’s inside, and trying out the according samples that says ‘try me’. For the entire time this lady kept looking at us, changed from my right side to the left and kept looking. The distance would not be comfortable to say the least let alone the staring. We picked what we wanted and head to payment. We mentioned the promotion as a way to confirm the offer. Immediately she denied such promotion without even looking at what we were referring to. She did check later. But I’m just confused by the service here, did she basically treat us like thieves? And why did she think we would make up the offer and lied to her? I left feeling deeply offended. Some places would make you happy when you spend 1000 dollars, this place on this day is not one of them sadly.

By far the worst experience I’ve had at a store. If there was a zero star option, I would be zero.I visited David jones Glassware in Chatswood Chase at 13/1 1pm. Rachel who claimed she was Conceige manager/from Glassware department at Chatswood Chase walked up to snatch an item off our hands because she deemed that we cannot “afford to purchase this item” and that we harassed “to purchase from her”. We have spoken to assistant store manager, James, regarding this and he said there was no such policy in the store. No only has she lied about a non existent policy, she was stalking and eavesdropping into my conversations with my wife. I’ve walked 3 streets up to Myers Chatswood to purchase the item I wanted in store without being abused. There are some serious employee training issues at this store. Happy to go through a formal customer complaint to document this appalling experience.

My experience with pay and pickup was terrible. I was told the item is not ready for pickup while they have it sitting on the floor. Its impossible to find the collection point. I was driving around for an hour before finding out the pickup point is in a different car park. No map, no instructions from David Jones where to pick it up. I would not do it again. Amazon will retire all these shops just by providing excellent service.

Encncountered rudeness and aggression from a saleswoman at DJ menswear today around the afternoon. She came up behind us and almost torpedoed into us since she was walking so fast. We had to quickly get out of her way. She sneered and shouted in a very harsh tone: "SORRY!" This saleswoman could have taken the path next to us, which barely had anyone walking on it but instead deliberately chose to push us out of the way. The way she shouted was so aggressive that it was not to convey any apology at all. It sounded more like swearing. We suspect it was racially motivated. We will stop shopping at Chatswood DJ menswear. She overweight with dark long hair untied, wearing a dark blue shirt and black pants. She went into the back at menswear.

I visited David jones Chanel beauty in Chatswood Chase at 4:20 pm. There were two sales associates there and only one customer. I said I want to buy a parfum, none of them said hi or willing to serve. The one of them asked a Dior sales to come over to help as they are too busy serving one customer. Then, I get told that I have to wait another 5 min as that person is working for Dior. At, 4:39pm, both of them are done, start to service another lady who came after me like I’m not existing. What the hell is this? I could have paid and go in 3min but I waited there and got ignored for more than 10minutes when they were just chatting and laughing. I really hope DJ can train your sales associates.

Made to stand around for 20 minutes to be refused a return for an item that was unused and didn’t fall into any excluded categories. Then openly insulted by the store manager for being unhappy. Wow, these stores really are dying. Looking at all of the 1-star reviews about awful experiences here under this manager doesn’t surprise me.
